1,500 trees planted!

A beautiful winters day greeted us as we arrived on a property near Coldstream. We had a great turn out with approximately 50 adults and a whole heap of children all rugged up and full of enthusiasm.

We would like to thank everyone who was a part of this huge success, we are pleased to announce we planted 1,500 indigenous trees!

One tree removes approximately 1 tonne of CO2 emissions, this equates to 1,500 tonnes offset for the trees we planted.

Every tree required a hole dug into the soil, we then planted and watered each tree, covered them with a protective blanket over the soil, followed by a plastic shield held in place by three stakes.

The owners of the property supplied a well earned BBQ lunch for all the volunteers. We ate in the stables while sitting on hay bales as some of the kids fed the horses. After our fill we went back to work and by 3:30pm we had planted everything!

Once again, thank you to everyone that came along and to those who couldn’t make it but offered their well wishes.
